Broad-spectrum antibiotic and sustained release more ß-lactamase inhibitor
FORMULA:
Each vial with sterile powder 1 ml contains:
cefotaxime sodium 200 mg
Each bottle with sterile diluent to 1 ml contains:
sulbactam sodium 40 mg
Vehicle cbp 0.84 ml.
After reconstitution each 1 ml contains:
cefotaxime sodium 200 mg
sulbactam sodium 40 mg
Vehicle cbp 1 ml.
INDICATIONS:
PROLONG-CEF is indicated in the treatment of infections of dogs and domestic cats, caused by anaerobes, Gram positive and Staphylococcus spp and Gram negative and E. coli, Klebsiella sp and Salmonella ; addition to Bordetella bronchiseptica, Haemophilus spp and generally in problems of bacterial meningitis, surgical prophylaxis, infections prostate, skin, intraabdominal by aerobic microorganisms, minor respiratory and severe pneumonia.
DOSE:
Dogs and cats:
1.5 ml / 10 kg body weight (equivalent to 30 mg / kg cefotaxime and 6 mg / kg of sulbactam) every 24 hours for a period of 3 to 5 days.

ADMINISTRATION: Subcutaneous.
WARNING:
To reconstitute, with a syringe and sterile needle to remove the diluent and empty it in the sterile powder, shake vigorously for a period of 1 to 2 minutes, wait for the foam generated to dissipate and extract the product for your application. In the event that this hypersensitivity to any component of the formula, discontinue treatment immediately. Use with caution in patients with a history of sensitivity to penicillins. Patients with renal impairment may require dose adjustments according to the discretion of the veterinarian. Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources at temperatures between 4 and 25 ° C. Once reconstituted keep refrigerated between 4 and 7 ° C for no more than 20 days.
